Lennie Gallant, in partnership with the City of Charlottetown and Wintertide Holiday Festival, will be presenting "The Innkeeper's Christmas Concert" at Trinity United Church in Charlottetown on Thursday, November 28th at 8:00 pm.
Lennie is happy to have as special guests for the Trinity show, award winning singer/songwriter Tara MacLean and Eastern Canada’s premier ensemble, The Atlantic String Machine. This special evening also features Patricia Richard, Sean Kemp, Jeremy Gallant and Jonathan Gallant.
Last year’s Trinity church concert sold out quickly, so make sure and get your tickets early!
The concert is named after the artist’s much loved song, “The Innkeeper”’ and it promises to be a spectacular evening of music. The song is a redemption story told from the point of view of that rather unsavoury character who turns the anointed couple away in their hour of need in the original nativity tale. The concert will feature original Christmas songs penned by the prolific artist for a new project, including his song "Christmas Day on Planet Earth", that he wrote to perform with the fabulous world music band from Zimbabwe, Black Umfolosi. (see YouTube video below) In addition to the Christmas numbers, Gallant will surely be including songs from his latest album, "Time Travel", and his brand new Francophone project with Patricia Richard, " Sirène et Matelot".
Gallant says, ‘We had an amazing run of shows at Christmas last year, and we are looking forward to this year’s show at the Trinity Church being even better! Having Tara MacLean and The Atlantic String Machine on board will make this extra special'.
Tickets will be available through the Eastlink Centre as well as at the door, tickets are $30.00 plus HST and surcharges each in advance or $35.00 plus hst and surcharges at the door on the night of the event. Tickets purchased online or by phone may be picked Monday to Friday 11am to 5pm at the Eastlink Centre Box Office or 30 minutes prior to the show at Trinity United Church. Phone and online sales an add'l $1 plus HST. NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES
